Want to go somewhere nice to eat? Somewhere different? Then this is the book for you !
Helen Ong: ----Say the words âPenang foodâ, and what is the image that springs to mind? Probably a bowl of laksa, char kuey teow, Hokkien mee, or one of the many other local dishes this island is famous for. However, there is a lot more to Penang food than what the hawkers have to offer, delicious as much of it is!
As a restaurant reviewer, I am privileged to have eaten in some of the best restaurants in Penang, of which there are many, and I can justifiably say that we can hold our own against restaurants in other cities. Surprisingly, despite our fantastic outlets, there is currently no guide to Penang's top eating places. I strongly believe such a guide is essential for diners and outlets alike.
I therefore decided to write an up-to-date guide, illustrated with a collection of photographs and reviews of some of the best restaurants in Penang, from those in our six-star resorts right through to the smaller, sometimes more obscure outlets located all over the island.
